Subnovii Skin Tightening Instructions

As with most cosmetic treatments, a consultation with an experienced, trained practitioner is needed and a strict aftercare routine is required for proper healing.
Before the treatment, the specialist will ensure you are a candidate for this treatment and answer any questions. The treatment area is then numbed using topical analgesic for 20-30 minutes to ensure minimal to no pain during the procedure. When the area is numb and has been cleaned with an antiseptic the procedure will begin. The specialist will use the device to make tiny brown dots on the skin called “carbon crusts.” Each carbon crust is made individually so the length of the procedure is dependent on the size of the treatment area. The carbon crusts will fall off the skin within 3-7 days.
What to Expect
Consultation is required prior to Subnovii Skin Tightening. The Plasma Technology is an aggressive treatment that stimulates Fibroblasts to tighten the skin around the crust that is created by a chemical reaction.
Skin Types 1-3 should prepare the skin using sunscreen and daily Gentle Cleansers and Moisturizers. Skin Type 4 (and some Type 3) will be pre-treated with prescription medication for a month prior to prevent hyper and hypo-pigmentation. Skin Types 5+ are not candidates for this procedure. Due to the healing process, it is imperative that you follow pre and post procedure instructions carefully, those who are unwilling or unable are not candidates for treatment.
During the treatment appointment you will be numbed for 45 minutes prior to treatment. The numbing cream is a high strength prescription that will drastically reduce pain during treatment. Clients are able to sit comfortably through treatment which lasts 30 minutes to an hour depending on the size of area treated.
The Plasma Pen does not come in contact with the skin, as it gets close to the skin (about 1mm) the tip of the pen creates a chemical reaction on the surface of the skin which creates a “crust” that looks like a scab. These crusts will fall off within two weeks. Towel use to the treated area is not recommended. It is recommended to air dry the area after showering. Picking of the crusts or causing them to fall off sooner than they’re ready will lead to permanent scarring. Therefore, patients who are prone to picking at scabs or zits are not candidates for this procedure.
Once the treatment is complete post treatment skin care will be applied. You will be provided with a post treatment care pack which contains a nourishing cream and Volcanic Ash. Itching is to be expected during the healing process, the Volcanic Ash powder will decrease itchiness.
Follow-up appointments are scheduled for two weeks post-treatment and will take 20 minutes. During this appointment the treatment area will be assessed. Full healing can take up to 12 weeks as the new skin under the crusts blend in with the surrounding skin. The skin new skin that was under the crusts may look slightly pink until fully healed.
Longevity: You will notice results slowly as the skin heals around crusts. Maximum effects will be seen at the 12-week mark. Wrinkles and sagging skin may return due to lifestyle habits and the aging process but with skincare and maintenance, results can be permanent.

I scheduled a free consultation for Subnovii Plasma Pen for an Eye Lift. The appointment was informative and lasted roughly 20 minutes. During the consultation, I was given pre and post treatment instructions. My medical history, past aesthetic treatments, and risks were all discussed. I was told the outcome of my treatment would depend greatly on my ability and willingness to follow procedure instructions. All of my questions were answered and I decided to proceed with booking the Eye Lift for two weeks later.
I avoided the sign and wore sunscreen for the two weeks leading up to my appointment. I discontinued my regular skincare regimen and began using a gentle cleanser and moisturizer to prepare my skin. I signed consents and had another opportunity to ask questions before starting. Numbing cream was applied and I took a nap while I was getting numb. The actual treatment was relatively quick and not painful. Treatment was finished within an hour of having the numbing cream removed. Immediately after, I could see the brown crusts polka-dotted around my eyes like a “Batman” mask. I was given a post treatment pack with instructions and went home for the rest of the day.
The healing process was just like watching a small cut heal. The crusts came off within a week or two, I had to be mindful to not pick them or use a harsh towel. When they were all healed there was new skin under each spot that’s tightened. Within a week following treatment I could feel tightness around my eyes and continue to feel lifting above my eyes! By the third week I was fully healed and still loving results!
